Hospitality Finder are proud to announce that legendary chef Marcus Wareing will be joining us as Chef Patron to create a stunning new menu for Green Room hospitality guests at Twickenham Stadium.
Attendees at the Autumn Internationals in November 2021 and the 2022 Six Nations will have the opportunity to sample the specially designed dishes, as Marcus brings his brand of modern British gastronomy to the Home of England rugby.
Beginning his culinary journey in the humble surroundings of Southport College, Marcus Wareing has become one of the most respected and acclaimed chefs in the UK. His career began as one of a 100 chefs working in The Savoy, but the ambitious, young chef quickly progressed and gained a position at one of London’s pre-eminent restaurants, the legendary Roux restaurant Le Gavroche. After developing his culinary craftsmanship further, Marcus then travelled the world working at some of the finest restaurants including The Point in New York, The Grand in Amsterdam, and Guy Savoy in Paris before returning to London where he gained the position of sous-chef at Gordan Ramsay’s first restaurant Aubergine.
Soon after, the dedication, precision and technique Marcus applied to his work began to pay off, achieving Michelin stars at both L’Oranger and Savoy Grill. With his meticulous nature, imaginative use of ingredients and skill of the highest order, Marcus was named chef patron of the infamous Pétrus in 1999 and earned two Michelin stars during his highly successful 9-year tenure.
With a vision of providing an alternative to the formal fine dining establishments that dominated the London restaurant scene at the time, Marcus took over the lease of Pétrus in 2008 and undertook a full redesign of the restaurant, creating a more informal, relaxed ambience whilst continuing to serve food of the highest quality. Rebranding as simply Marcus in 2014, the restaurant has proven to be a winning formula, maintaining its place in the Michelin guide ever since.
With an impressive array of accolades, numerous cookbooks, and a notable television career, which has included appearances on MasterChef, Saturday Kitchen and Great British Menu (where in 2006, he famously served egg custard tart for the Queen’s 80th birthday celebrations) Marcus has become a true household name and a titan of the English gastronomy scene.
