Lawrence Dallaglio OBE
Lawrence Dallaglio burst onto the rugby scene as a stand-out back row during England’s victory in the 1993 Sevens World Cup. A rarity in the modern-day game, Lawrence was a one-club man, playing every first-class game of his glittering career for Wasps – celebrating domestic and European successes winning both the Premiership title and the Heineken Cup.
He made his England debut in 1995 and in 1997, he received his call up to the British & Irish Lions, featuring in all three matches of a victorious tour in South Africa. Dallaglio’s crowning achievement though, came in 2003 at the Rugby World Cup, where he was the only member of the squad to play every minute of England’s glorious World Cup-winning campaign.
Since his retirement from professional rugby in 2008, Lawrence remains an active supporter of the game’s next generation. Lawrence has also made an enormous impact with his charity work, most notably with the inception of Dallaglio RugbyWorks – which gives opportunities and support to young people from all backgrounds.
A stalwart of The Green Room at Twickenham, Lawrence is a keen sports fan and can be found enjoying cricket at The Kia Oval or horse racing at Cheltenham.
