Formula 1 has announced its provisional race schedule for 2021, with a record breaking 23 races spanning 21 countries and four continents

The return of fans to grandstands is likely to be more thrilling than ever! The notorious Italian ‘Tifosi’ will celebrate races at both Imola and Monza, Saudi Arabia will host its first-ever Grand Prix and for those traditionalists, favourites like Silverstone, Monaco and Spa all take their place on the 2021 grid.

F1 have now announced the Portimao circuit in Portugal will be the third race of the season. Portimao hosted its first-ever Grand Prix in 2020, putting the Portuguese Grand Prix back on the calendar for the first time since 1996.

Can Sir Lewis Hamilton surpass the legendary Michael Schumacher’s record and clinch a monumental eighth World Championship? Can the young, precocious Dutchman Max Verstappen make a charge in his Red Bull or can one of the young Brits, Lando Norris and George Russell, make their mark in 2021? So many questions and with so little time before it’s go, go, go in Bahrain, the teams will be working round the clock developing their latest feats of automotive racing engineering.

What is certain though is that when the lights go out for that first race at the end of March, the racing will be a high octane and adrenalin-fuelled affair.
