The Green Room made its debut this weekend for the second game of the Guinness Six Nations tournament with Scotland v England.

Saturday 8th February was a first for The Green Room. It made its debut at BT Murrayfield for the Scotland v England clash.

Guests were welcomed into the facility with a drinks reception before taking their seats for a full day of rugby entertainment. Our exceptional host, Mark Durden-Smith began the day by introducing two former England rugby players, most known for being part of the 2003 World Cup winning squad, Mike Tindall and Lawrence Dallaglio. Guests got an insight into what it was like to be part of the squad after hearing stories from both of their rugby careers plus their thoughts on the team and the game ahead against Scotland.

Not leaving our Scottish fans out, Mark introduced two Scottish legends too, David Denton and Bryan Redpath who are both former Scottish Union players. They shared what it was like to be part of the Scottish squad, including stories from their professional rugby careers and answered questions from the audience.

Whilst the sporting stars took to the stage our guests enjoyed their 3-course meal:

After lunch guests began to make their way to their lower tier seats, just off the halfway line with panoramic views across the pitch.

Even though storm Ciara was in full force both teams still battled it out on the field. With the wind and rain not on their side, England put up the best defence they had and just minutes in Farrell goaled the game’s first points which would carry them through to half-time (0-3, 11 mins). Despite Scotland scoring 6 points England went on to win the second round in the tournament securing their first victory against the scots since 2017 and the Calcutta Cup.

Post-match The Green Room guests made their way back to the facility where they could enjoy refreshments and another panel with all four of the rugby panellists.

We were even visited by Zara Tindall post-match too which prompted the question to Mike Tindall..

“What’s the best thing that ever happened to you? Winning the Rugby World Cup or getting married to Zara?”

But that’s something only The Green Room guests know the answer too!

If you want to be there at the next Guinness Six Nations match you can join both Mike Tindall and Lawrence Dallaglio in The Green Room at any of the remaining rugby fixtures!
